Distributed and Intelligent Space System Laboratory (DSSL), founded in 2005, is affiliated to the School of Aerospace Engineering at Tsinghua University. The laboratory consists of one full professor, three postdoctoral researchers, and more than ten doctoral and master’s students from all over the world. The Tsinghua Science Satellite, developed by the laboratory, was successfully launched in August 2020, making important contributions to Earth gravitational field and atmospheric measurements. With variant experimental facilities including satellite system design and simulation platform, robot development equipment and high-performance computing workstations, DSSL makes progress both in theoretical study and engineering development.
Since 2005, the DSSL lab has undertaken more than 20 national research projects, among which the most representative ones are projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Manned Space Project, and the National 863 Program. One second prize from the National Science and Technology Progress Award and two first prizes from the Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award have been granted.
