On March 14, 2024, Professor Quentin Parker, Director of the Laboratory for Space Research (LSR) at Hong Kong University, and Deputy Director Professor Su Meng visited DSSL at Tsinghua University. Professor Wang Zhaokui, the director of DSSL, introduced the research progress in distributed spacecraft dynamics, scientific exploration satellites, and aerospace artificial intelligence. Professor Quentin Parker introduced the major achievements of LSR in recent years in scientific research, student training, international cooperation, and other aspects. The two sides had in-depth discussions on research cooperation, academic exchanges, and visiting scholar programs.
The LSR is an interdisciplinary entity under the Faculty of Science at Hong Kong University. The mission of LSR is to emerge as a leading interdisciplinary research center in Space and Planetary Sciences across the Asian region with a strong identity. The key areas of research of LSR include planetary science, high-energy astrophysics, evolved stars, and space science.
